SANAA http://www.airmaxsaleoutlet.com/ , Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- The death toll of the cholera epidemic in war-torn Yemen has increased to 2,103 since it broke out in April, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Thursday.

The suspected cases have risen up to 704,544, WHO said on its official Twitter account.

The cases were reported from 22 provinces out of 23, it added.

Most of the suspected cases were reported from the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, while most of the deaths were reported from the northwestern province of Hajjah.

On Sept. 6, the death toll reached 2,048, while the suspected cases reached 612,009 people, more than half of them children, according to WHO.

The war in Yemen, which has lasted more than two years and a half, has destroyed the bulk of the country's water and sanitation systems, with more than half of Yemen's health facilities out of service, and about 15 million people gaining no access to safe water and basic healthcare.

The war has also pushed the country into the brink of famine, with an estimated 385,000 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition, thus putting them at heightened risk of acute watery diarrhea and cholera, according to the UN agencies.

Home > Home SecurityWhy Keeping Your Telephone Is Important

Posted by americandialtone in Home on September 6th, 2013

Due to the advent of cellular phones, the usage of home phones has diminished. According to Nielsen reports, more than 20 million U.S households use mobile phones only, and don’t prefer to use landline phones. The demand for landline phones is decreasing, especially among the low-income families.

As more people get rid of their landline phones and switch over to exclusively use wireless phones, it is important to remember why retaining a landline phone is significant. An increasing number of adults have preferred to use cell phones rather than landline phones because in addition to making and receiving calls, cell phones can send and receive text messages, emails and more. Portability of wireless phones is another reason they are often preferred.

Despite of all these reasons, wire-line telephones remain accountable when it comes to some effective communication. Many cell phone users have correctly calculated that it’s less expensive to use home telephones than it is to make all calls and messages from a cell phone.

Why you should keep landline phone

1. A home phone can be directly connected to a home security alarm system.
2. If you place a 911 call from your landline phone, emergency dispatchers will receive your location and can dispatch the emergency service.
3. They provide superior sound quality and clarity.
4. No dropped calls, weak signals, or dead battery.
5. For your kids or parents who are alone at home, landline phones provide a great comfort.

If you are looking for home phone service, choosing the best and the most reliable service provider might be a difficult task. The problem that most people face with the local providers is that they charge a number of hidden costs. You need a service provider who can provide home phone service at a nominal cost. When you choose a home phone service provider, you need to check all the costs involved before activating service.

Understanding the importance of home phone the government has been providing financial assistance to low income households and, as a result, the costs of home phone service has come down considerably. If you are currently receiving some form of government assistance like Food Stamps or Medicaid, or your household income is at or below the Federal poverty level, and you live in Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, Rhode Island,
