During the bye week White Peyton Barber Jersey , the Buccaneers announced that Jameis Winston will start at quarterback when the team returns to action in week six. in the win column against the struggling Falcons. Ryan Fitzpatrick took the league by storm in the first two or three weeks of this season before the Bucs as a whole collapsed against the Bears in week four. At halftime, Winston made his return from suspension and completed 16 of his 20 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown to two interceptions. A few days later, head coach Dirk Koetter confirmed what everyone was already thinking: Winston was in and Fitzpatrick was out at the quarterback position. There is no shortage of familiarity between Winston and Atlanta. Let’s go game-by-game to see how the No. 1 overall pick from 2015 has fared against the Falcons.Nov. 1, 2015: Bucs 23, Falcons 20 (Overtime)Winston’s first meeting with the Falcons went his way. His numbers weren’t all that special: 16-of-29 for 177 yards and a touchdown through the air and three rushes for 24 yards and a score on the ground. The important thing was that the rookie didn’t turn the ball over and remained composed after Tampa Bay blew a 20-3 lead. Atlanta forced overtime, but Winston led a field goal drive that lasted 7:08 to start the extra period. From there, the defense held up and Tampa Bay picked up a road victory. Dec. 6, 2015: Bucs 23, Falcons 19About one month after his first victory over the Falcons, “Famous Jameis” got a second one. With Atlanta visiting Raymond James Stadium, the rookie came through with some late heroics to lead Tampa Bay to a season sweep over its division rival. With the Falcons leading 19-16 late in the fourth quarter, the young rookie took his offense 80 yards in 12 plays Youth Chris Godwin Jersey , finishing the drive by throwing a go-ahead six-yard touchdown pass to Mike Evans with 1:39 to go. Winston finished the day with 227 yards and one touchdown (to one interception) on 18-of-27 passing while also putting up an early touchdown run.Sept. 11, 2016: Bucs 31, Falcons 24Winston extended his (and the Bucs’) winning streak over the Falcons to three in the 2016 season opener. It was one of his biggest performances to date, silencing the Atlanta crowd with 281 yards and four touchdowns on 23-of-32 passing. He connected with Brandon Myers, Charles Sims, Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Mike Evans for his four scores. Tampa Bay held a 31-13 lead by the 5:12 mark in the third quarter. Atlanta fought back into it by the end, but the Bucs held on. Nov. 3, 2016: Falcons 43, Bucs 28The Bucs were let down on Thursday Night Football in 2016, falling at home to the Falcons. Aside from a lost fumble, Winston put up some nice numbers. He completed 23 of his 37 attempts for 261 yards and three touchdowns. The Tampa Bay defense just couldn’t hold up. It was Winston’s first loss against Atlanta.Dec. 18, 2017: Falcons 24 White Chris Conte Jersey , Bucs 21The Falcons got Jameis and the Bucs again last December, beating them at Raymond James Stadium on Monday Night Football. Winston missed the earlier meeting between the two teams with an injury, but came back looking fully healthy in a close loss. Winston hit on 27 of his 35 passes for 299 yards and three scores. He connected with Adam Humphries with 4:07 left in the game to bring the Bucs within 24-21, then completed three passes on a late drive to set up a 54-yard field goal attempt. Patrick Murray missed it, leading to another Buccaneer loss instead of forcing overtime. It was the second straight loss to the Falcons for Winston, despite his strong night.Career against the FalconsOverall Record: 3-2Home Record: 1-2Road Record: 2-0Completion Percentage: 66.9 (107-of-160)Passing Yards: 1,245Passing Touchdowns: 12Interceptions: 2Rushing Attempts: 18Rushing Yards: 71Rushing TD: 2Fumbles (Fumbles Lost): 2 (1)Buccaneers at Bears: Five Bold Predictions Ah yes, good ol’ Chicago. The Bucs have deep history in the Windy City, going back back to the days when the Bucs and Bears were in the NFC Central division before the 2002 realignment. Though there is plenty of history between the franchises, these two teams don’t know much about each other. That should make for a fun game on Sunday. These five predictions will make it even better. 1. Khalil Mack records a season-high in sacks (Evan)Yea, this sucks. The Bucs were terrible against the Steelers’ pass rush last week and I don’t see it getting any better going on the road during a short week. This isn’t a knock against the Bucs’ offensive line nor the coaching staff, but Mack is on another level when it comes to his skill and athleticism. Tampa Bay had issues with lesser skilled players last week Youth Mike Evans Jersey , so why wouldn’t Mack give them trouble? The hope is that when he does eventually get to Fitzpatrick/Winston that he doesn’t hurt one of them nor cause a turnover. Demar Dotson and Donovan Smith will need to be at their best on Sunday. Mack had two sacks against the Cardinals last weekend and I think he improves on that number this week.2. The Bucs hold the Bears to under 300 total yards (Evan)Tampa Bay’s defense has improved each week and this week feels like the perfect opportunity to showcase just that. After the Week 1 shootout with the Saints, they held the Eagles to 21 points and rendered the Steelers scoreless in the second half. They recorded three sacks in each game and are one of the league’s leaders in quarterback pressures. Can Mitchell Trubisky have the game of his life against the Bucs?Photo by Norm Hall/Getty Images The Bears aren’t the model of offensive excellence, either. They are near the bottom in terms of passing yards and are solid at running the ball, but it’s not enough to displace the passing game woes. There should be seven defenders in the box for most of the game and the Bucs are competent enough at corner to hold their own against the not-so-talented receiving corps of Chicago. The Bears have already been held to under 300 total yards twice against the Packers and the Seahawks. In all, it should be a good day for the defense. 3. Jason Pierre Paul adds another two sacks to his total (Alex)JPP has been the Buccaneers best defensive lineman this season and it really hasn’t been close. Jason Licht sacrificed a third-round pick for him and so far he is getting a massive return. Pierre Paul already has more sacks this season then any other Buccaneer defensive end had last season and he is also second in the league in terms of QB hits with 8. He is noticeable on almost every down, something Buccaneer fans haven’t seen since the days of Simeon Rice. JPP is on his way to a double digit sack total this season. 4. Mike Evans dominates... again (Alex)When the conversation starts on the best receivers in the league, Mike Evans is rarely brought up. There is no question that Evans is at least a top five receiver, but he has been on another level through three games this season and he is coming for that number one spot. He is too big, too quick and has added much needed speed down the field this season. It really doesn’t matter what you do, he is impossible to defend and a nightmare for defenses. Evans, will probably be matched up on Kyle Fuller, who is the Bears #1 cornerback for most of the game White Ryan Smith Jersey , but I don’t expect it to have much of an effect. Mike Evans stat line: 9 catches, 145 yards, 2 touchdowns 5. Chandler Catanzaro is perfect... AGAIN (Evan)Maaaaan, I’m going out on a limb on this one.Alex was crazy enough to predict that he would hit all of his kicks last week and he did. It will be even harder to do so this week in Chicago, but I think it will be done. A kicker’s mentality can be as frail as Chris Baker, but when they are confident, it’s hard to shake them out of said confidence. Catanzaro does it again this week as the Bucs win by a field goal.
